These FAQ's relate to the Psych-E website in general, for more application specific FAQ's then please login.

Q: What do I need to run the Psych-E website?

A: Importantly you must have a valid and working internet connection, of course if that's not working you won't be able to even see this page!

Other things you must have are:

  • A web browser, e.g Internet Explorer (minimum version 6) or Mozilla FireFox
  • JAVASCRIPT enabled in your web browser. How?
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader (minimum version 7)
  • Adobe Flash Player (minimum version 6)
  • A valid and working email address/account

Q: I don't have what I need to run the Psych-E website, where can I get what I need?

Q: Why is my username so strange?

A: The system generates a unique username for everyone for obvious security reasons.

As of 22nd November 2006, the system was changed slightly to generate a more reasonable username that would be easier to remember.

Q: Why is my password full of weird letters and numbers?

A: The system generates a unique password for everyone for obvious security reasons.

As of 22nd November 2006, the system was changed slightly to generate a more reasonable password that only consists of lowercase letters and all numbers except 0 (zero).

Q: I won't be able to remember the system generated password, can I change it?

A: As of 22nd November 2006 you will be able to change your password, but only once you have logged in. Once you have logged in there will be a menu option on the left hand side called 'Change My Password'.

Q: Can I change my username?

A: Unfortunately you can not change your username as it has to remain unique, for obvious security reasons.

Q: Why can't I login?

A: Are you sure that you have typed your username and password in correctly? This may sound stupid but have you put them in exactly as they are in the email with the correct upper and lowercase letters? Sometimes an uppercase 'O' can be mistaken as a '0' (zero) and vice versa.
